Called By Your Name

Today’s Scripture Isaiah 43:1 (ESV)

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”

Isaiah 43:1 (ESV)

Going deeper

There are days when your name feels heavy — worn down by a label someone gave you, or by a memory you would rather leave behind. Perhaps you have been called many things. Perhaps you have started calling yourself by them too.

But here is a different word spoken over you. Not a number, not a record, not your worst day. Your own name, said with tenderness. To be called by name is to be known — not as a case or a problem to be solved, but as someone who belongs.

You can carry this quietly into whatever the day holds. The bus, the queue, the shift, the waiting. You are not nameless in the crowd. You are seen, and you are held, and the fear can loosen its grip a little.

A prayer

Thank you that I am known by name. Where fear has been loud, let me hear a gentler voice today. Help me believe I belong.

Carry this with you

You are not your label — you are called by name, and you belong.

Soli Deo Gloria — to God alone be the glory.
